Have you ever thought about exploring the world of winemaking and grape growing but don’t know where to start? Spirits of Norway Vineyard has created a new paid internship program aimed at helping you learn the ins and outs of the industry. From learning how a vineyard is managed to processing grapes and fermenting must and juice in to wine, you will gain experience across all levels of production.  Our experienced staff will guide you through the process from start to finish.  No prior experience is required for this role, but a passion for all things wine is a must!

VINEYARD SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Vineyard Manager, the intern will learn all aspects of vineyard management, including but not limited to: Cultivation, leaf thinning, weed pulling, tying, suckering, canopy management, planting and replanting, irrigation of new plantings, installing insect control netting, ratcheting trellis wires, erosion control maintenance, crop harvesting and handling, search out and evaluate vineyard problems and make recommendations that provide effective, timely and economic solutions to deliver quality fruit.

WINERY SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Wine Maker, the intern will assist with cellar operations as needed, including bottling, labeling, capsule shrinking, casing, palletizing, and warehouse management. An ideal candidate could advance to more of a Winery Assistant role, which would involve racking wine from one tank to another, filtering, fermentation, aging and wine finishing.
